Hello everybody, long time no see me ~~.

I have not written about my job for long time. So today I’d like to talk a bit about it.

First thing, I want to complain thing that I am not satisfied. It is I did work to clean up wedding party (wash tons of dishes and glasses, tidy area, vacuum and mop floor, put tables and chairs into the cupboard and !@#@!!$#…. ) every week T T . I don’t understand why people would like to get married this hotel.

Hey you guys know that ? I’m very very very tried when you are happy on wedding day. Please do not have a wedding party. It saves your money and it saves my energy too.

If you want to have a party, please go to other hotels. lol

Second, Now, night porter team has a good activity to kill our sleepy time. when our tasks have been done, it’s time to watch film together. A night reception downloads films then night porter(s) watch it together. It’s such a nice activity

Finally, I negotiated with my team lead that I prefer to have certain day off, last week. Then I got it

Although my workdays are reduced to become 4 days a week but I’m happy because I can manage my time and find a second job to do (if I need more money) .

วันนี้ขอเขียนอะไรเรื่อยเปื่อยหน่อยล่ะกัน เพราะมาอยู่ที่นี่ก็ 3 เดือนแล้ว

ได้คุยกับเพื่อน ๆ หลายคน ก็มักจะมีคำถามยอดนิยมติดตามอยู่มาเป็นเนือง ๆ เอาเป็นว่า หยิบมาตอบคำถามที่นี่ดีกว่า

1. มาอังกฤษตั้งนาน ภาษาดีขึ้นไหม ?

ส่วนตัวสำหรับผมแล้ว บอกตรง ๆ เลยว่า ดีขึ้นนิดเดียวเท่านั้น เคยเห็นไม้บรรทัด 30 cm ไหม ?  ผมว่าผมดีขึ้นมา 5 mm -”-

เนื่องจากว่าอยู่กับคนไทยเยอะ อันนี้บอกตรง ๆ เลยว่า รู้ตัวอยู่ และก็พยายามที่จะลด ๆ การรู้จักคนไทยใหม่ ๆ บ้าง แต่ก็นะ บางทีเค้าก็ต้องการความช่วยเหลือ และบางทีเราก็ต้องการความช่วยเหลือเหมือนกัน มันก็เลยจำเป็นที่จะต้องใช้ภาษาบ้านเกิดเมืองนอนของเรา

มีคำแนะนำนิดนึง สำหรับคนที่อยากมาที่นี่เพื่อฝึกภาษา…คือ มาที่นี่ ถ้าได้ยินคำถามว่า “เป็นคนไทยรึป่าว ?”  อย่าตอบว่า “No, I’m not” นะ ให้ทำหน้า งง ๆ แล้วตอบว่า “Sorry ?” แล้วก็หาเพื่อนต่างชาติเยอะ ๆ

2. ที่นี่เป็นไงบ้าง ? สนุกไหม ? ดีป่าว ? อยากมาจัง

อืมม มันขึ้นอยู่ว่า อยากมาทำอะไร ถ้ามาเที่ยว ก็มาเที่ยวเถิด สนุก อากาศดี จ่ายแพงหน่อย แต่รับรองว่ามีความสุข ( ดูพยากรณ์อากาศก่อนมาด้วยล่ะ ) ผมชอบที่นี่นะ โดยเฉพาะ park ต่าง ๆ เห็นพื้นที่สีเขียวยาว ๆ แล้วมันสดชื่น

แต่ถ้ามาเรียนอย่างเดียว … มีตังค์พอกินพอใช้ สามารถจ่ายได้ ก็เลือกเรียนโรงเรียนที่จ่ายแพงหน่อย เพราะคนไทยน้อย คบเพื่อนต่างชาติเยอะ ๆ Enjoy กับการใช้ชีวิตอยู่ที่นี่ อยู่ซัก 3 เดือน ผมว่าภาษาเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างน้อย 20 cm (จาก 1 ไม้บรรทัดมาตราฐาน)

แล้วถ้าคิดจะมาทำงานเก็บตังค์อย่างเดียวหล่ะ ? … รู้จักกับคำว่า “เหนื่อย” “ลำบาก” “อดทน” ไหม ? นั่นแหล่ะ เด็กไทยที่มาเก็บเงินที่นี่เค้าสะกดอย่างถูกต้องเหมือน คัดลายมือ 1 สมุดหน้าเหลือง … รู้จักมากน้อย แล้วแต่คน  บางคนทำงานจนนอนวันละ 4 ชั่วโมง หรือต่ำกว่าก็มี อันนี้ก็แล้วแต่ว่า หางานได้เท่าไหร่ อยากทำเท่าไหร่ (อยากเหนื่อยเท่าไหร่) พกดวงและฝึกภาษา/ทักษะพื้นฐานอาชีพ (ทำอาหาร, เสริฟ์, นวด, ตัดผม, อยู่บาร์ ฯลฯ ) ก่อนมาก็จะดีมาก

3. รวยยัง ?

ยังครับ ยังไม่รวย ดูจาก entry 51st ก็จะทราบว่า ผมเพิ่งทำงานได้คืนค่ากินอยู่ 3 เดือนที่นี่กับ pocket money ที่พกมาเท่านั้น ยังไม่ได้เงินคืนจากค่าใช้จ่ายต่าง ๆ ตอนลงคอร์สนี้เลย

4. ไปเที่ยวมาบ้างป่าวเนี่ย ?

ก็มีไปเที่ยวบ้าง ตามสถานที่ต่าง ๆ ของ Brighton แต่ช่วงนี้ก็ไม่ได้ไปบ่อย กะว่าซักต้น ๆ ฤดูหนาวจะ holidays ไปเที่ยวต่างเมืองบ้าง เพราะช่วงนี้ high season ค่าโรงแรมแพงเหลือหลาย -”- ถ้าไปแล้วจะเก็บรูปมาฝาก

5. อาหารอร่อยไหม ?

อร่อยดีนะ เพราะไม่มีวันไหนเลยที่ไม่ได้กินอาหารไทย (อันนี้ไม่ได้โม้) กินอาหารไทยทุกวัน มีพ่อครัว แม่ครัว (มือสมัครเล่นบ้าง กึ่งโปรบ้าง มีอาชีพบ้าง) ทำให้กินทุกวัน …  บังเอิญรู้จักคนไทยเยอะไปหน่อย ~~  … แต่ก็ขอบคุณ ทุกคนที่ทำอาหารให้กินไว้ ณ ทีนี้ด้วย

6. มีแฟนยัง ? เอาต่างชาตินะ

-”-…  เอ่อ… ครับ… อยู่ไทย ยังจะหาไม่ได้ มาที่นี่ สาวมากมาย คุยกันด้วยภาษามือ (และกาย) มันก็เข้าใจได้บ้างแค่ส่วนนึง แต่ที่สำคัญ มันต้องใช้ภาษาใจด้วย ยากอยู่นะ

7. คิดถึงไหม ?

คิดถึงครับ คิดถึงทุกคนแหล่ะ (พ่อ แม่ พี เพื่อน และ ผู้อ่านทุกท่าน (๕๕) ) บอกตรง ๆ ว่า สอง สามวันที่ผ่านมา คิดถึงเมืองไทยมาก ๆ สุด ๆ เหลือคณานับ จนอยากกลับไทย แต่บุ๊กตั๋วกลับตั้งมกรา ก็คงต้องอยู่ถึงตอนนั้นแหล่ะ

นี่ก็เป็นส่วนนึงของความคิดเห็นคนนึงของชายคนนึงที่มา คอร์ส work and study ที่อังกฤษ ได้ 3 เดือน

ถ้าใคร (หน้าม้าทั้งหลายและผู้แอบอ่าน หรือ เพิ่งได้มาอ่าน) มีคำถาม นอกเหนือจากนี้ คิดว่า น่าสนใจ โพสถามได้เลย เดี๋ยวมาตอบ การันตี ได้ทุกคำตอบทุกคำถาม

After I borrowed my friend a bike for few weeks until I got first salary here. So it was time to buy my own.

Then I went to few places looking for used bike. But it’s very expensive for me. Until today, I went to Sunday Market (open 9.00 am - 2.00 pm) and there are many shops sell used bike which is not too expensive.

I walked for half an hour and considered many bikes that which bikes is the best for their price.

Finally, I found one. It was at in front of the exit of the market. Actually, I’d thought that I wouldn’t buy today.

However, I decided to buy it because its quality is very good and its price is 35 pounds which it’s not too expensive.

Buy a bike, Save the bus fares…

On 1st July, I got one problem that is “no salary coming into my account”. But I was not worry about it until the few days after. I went to talk with the hotel manager about this. He told me that my sort code of bank account was incorrect. Then he called to bank staff immediately and told me the money would come into my account on next Wed or Thu.

You know ? This week, I had been checking everyday since Monday until today.

Finally, I got it ! … Yeah !!

And this income made my balance become positive. It means that right now,I have got total income more than total living expense since I have been here.

They are an intersection at 1,245.69 pounds.

Then my next step is to get income more than total cost that I’d paid before I came here. it’s around 2,000 pounds.

Let’s see I can do it or not 

Since I have been here for nearly 3 months, I never had a new hair cut so my hair was the longest that I have had. It’s looked messy for me. I decided to had a new then.

Today I went to a barber shop. I was waiting 15 minutes for 2 barbers finish their customer.

While I was waiting. I was a bit worry because I didn’t know how to tell the barber.

But It was my lucky ( I think ) , one of customers had a new hair cut which is quite cool.

After he was finished and he paid money 8.50 pounds, I spoke to hairdresser that I need a hair cut same as him. And I asked the barber how to call this hair style.

He replied me “crew cut on back and side”

Umm, I got it.

It took time for 20 minutes, I think. Finally I got a new hair cut which I like it.

But… I didn’t it when I paid money !!

I asked the barber.

“How much is it ?”

“14 pounds”

“O_O”

“Really ? I thought It’s only 8.50″

“Normally it is, but your hair was very long. I spent long time.”

OK. His reason is good. I accepted. But it’s still too expensive though.

“Do you have discount for student ?”

I asked him because it show on the board price that they have discount for student.

“Yes. Actually it is 15 pounds”

” -”- “

OK. Then I open my carryall to get coins for paying.

While I was giving him money, he said

“OK, it’s 12 pounds (around 800 baht)”

Thx God, he’s such a lovely barber.

.

However, It was the most expensive price for a hair cut that I have paid.

This was my first time and would be last time for having a hair cut here.

ก่อนที่จะมาที่นี่ ก็ซื้อรองเท้าคู่ใหม่มาเพื่อที่จะมาใช้ที่นี่โดยเฉพาะและก็เอารองเท้าหนังเผื่อไว้ใส่ทำงาน พร้อมแตะอีกคู่

แต่เนื่องด้วยความประหยัด เลยเดินทรหดไปหน่อย รองเท้าคู่ใหม่ที่เพิ่งซื้อก่อนมานั้น ส้นแหว่งไปเลย -”-

และเมื่อวานซืนนี้หลังจากทำงานเสร็จ ก็สังเกตุรองเท้าหนังของตัวเอง

ปรากฏว่า ส้นเปิด (อาการหนักกว่าอีก -”-)

เรียกได้ว่า เป็นฤกษ์งามที่ต้องเสียเงินซื้อรองเท้าคู่ใหม่

แต่จะซื้อที 2 คู่ก็กระไรอยู่ รองเท้าไม่ใช่ลูกอมที่จะขายคู่ละบาท ก็เลยเดิน ๆ ไปดูรองเท้าแถว ๆ ย่านช้อปปิ้ง

และแล้วก็ได้รองเท้าหนังมานึงคู่ ใส่สบาย คลายกังวลที่ส้นจะเปิด -”- ด้วยราคา 10 ปอนด์ ก็ถือว่าราคาสมเหตุสมผล ซื้อที่ไทยก็คงประมาณนี้

ส่วนรองเท้าผ้าใบนั้นก็ใส่ทั้ง ๆ ที่ส้นแหว่งไปก่อน จนกว่าส้นมันจะหายหมด…

งกไปไหมเนี่ย -”-

Hi Everybody,

This week is very busy. I’ve got to do ton of things. As I wrote in last entry, I had an interview at West Sussex on Tuesday. And The rest of them I helped an acquaintance. She is a head chef at Sukhothai restaurant (the restaurant that I’m working as a part-time). She is setting up new restaurant, Mae Wan Thai Kitchen, at The Albion Pub.

Actually, This restaurant has been opened for few weeks but there is not famous. So It has also few customers each days ~~”. Things I have done for this restaurant were buying cell phone for getting customer’s orders, printing (designed logo by ekn8) the menu and flying.

Yesterday was a first time that we advertised through flyer. And today, there was a first customer calling us to order the take away menu. It means that there are more people know us. It begins famous, I hope.
